Your
RESCUE
PROGRAM

NATIONAL BREED CLUBS

Check with your National Breed Club. They may have fundraisers that you can participate in, and benefit from. Normally, the National Clubs operate as advisors rather than actually assisting, but it never hurts to contact them and look into their programs.

LOCAL CLUBS

Local clubs oftn have fundraisers and events that should enable you to take advantage of the moment. For events, ask about setting up a rescue booth. During fundraisers, see if you can tie rescue to it as well. And don't forget about dogshows in your region. Contact the Show Superintendants and ask for booth space. You can find out about shows by contacting the AKC.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

Getting donations from the community is another way to fund rescue. Hold dog washes, raffles, and giveaways. Contact area Vets and get them involved as sponsors for your events. Talk with area pet supply stores, and arrange to bring rescues in and set up an information stand. You might even be able to get the local press involved as a human interest story. If you can dream it, try it!

PRIVATE DONATIONS

Support from private individuals and area businesses is very important. Contact companies with an organized request for help. If you are trying to get 501c3 status, let them know. Read about Corporate sponsorship back on the main page for this website. And don't forget to ask for a placement fee, each time you adopt out a dog. It won't be much, but it all adds up.
