VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT
The Volunteer Agreement defines who is responsible for what. Without it, too much can be assumed, communication breaks down, and costs get out of control. Make sure your volunteers are aware of what you expect from them!
HOW TO USE THE FORM
Go over each line of the form with your new volunteers and/or foster families. Make certain they understand what they will be responsible for, and what you will do as well. Circle each block as you agree on terms. Have them sign the form as acknowledgement.
- Never assume the volunteer understands what you want. Be specific.
- Never assume the foster home will care for the dog from that point on. Make sure you actively attempt to place the dog in a permanent home.
- Make certain you agree on which vets to use, and what constitutes routine.
Be up-front. disclose everything and be honest about what you will or will not help with. Don't leave your foster families and volunteers stranded.
