for BREED RESCUE

NATIONAL BREED CLUBS
Some National Breed Clubs support rescue, and some don't. Check out the one for your Breed, and make sure to ask about their stance regarding rescue. If they are rescue active, consider joining and lending your efforts to the cause. You'll then have the strength of the combined program to lean on for advice and guidance.
LOCAL BREED CLUBS
Like the National Clubs, local Breed groups tend to take one side or the other regarding the rescue issue. Check out the programs in your area, and just like with the National Club, ask plenty of questions. There may be a Breed rescue program already in place for your area, and you might only need to sign up to participate!
ALL-BREED CLUBS
You might want to check out the local all-breed clubs in your area too. Although they may not be working with your Breed, you may be able to network with them, and assist each other. Breed groups often work together to save animals, and the actual Breed isn't always the issue. Besides, you should be able to find valuable guidance from such programs.
SHELTERS
Don't forget to check with the local shelters. Their staff can assist you with the basic information needed for your community regarding rescue laws and regulations. They may also be able to point you to people in your area already handling rescue. Shelters have even been known to inspect and certify rescue programs as an extension of their own facility. Central Ohio Samoyed Rescue, for example, has been inspected and approved by the Capital Area Humane Society as a rescue facility. Ask about this from the shelter in your area.
